The Magic Flute Returns, A Taste of Opera, Joan Tower and xxxx视频@Severance
The xxxx视频 (xxxx视频) presents a double dose of opera, honors the 75th birthday of American composer Joan Tower, sends the Orchestra back to Severance Hall and continues the faculty recital series this month.
A complete listing of events is available at cim.edu. For those events that are ticketed, guests should visit cim.edu or call the xxxx视频 Box Office at 216.795.3211. Some events require seating passes, which are available at the Box Office beginning one week prior to the event.

Double Dose of Opera: xxxx视频 Voice Students Take Center Stage
Opera lovers will get a double dose of excitement this month as xxxx视频 voice students perform twice in November under the direction of David Bamberger. Read more below about the fully staged opera November 6 through 9 and the Musical Luncheon presented by the Women's Committee November 17.
The Magic Flute Returns to Opera TheaterNovember 6 - 9
Mozart's The Magic Flute (Die Zauberfl枚te) was last seen on Kulas stage in 2008 but the production returns November 6 through 9 with a new twist and is filled with all of the magic, adventure, laughter and enchanting music that audiences would expect.
Artistic Director , known for his inventive stagings, takes audiences into a fanciful, funky world in which generations collide.
With the wonderful talents of xxxx视频's singers and Orchestra led by as well as Dave Brooks' creative sets, Alison Garrigan's imaginative costumes and Mozart's irresistible music, this show will be a delight for all ages.
Sung in German, the production includes projected English text and dialogue, so you won't miss a word! Tickets are $20 adults, $15 seniors and groups of 10 or more, $10 students with ID. A Taste of Opera Musical Luncheon
November 13
presents an enchanting program featuring voice students in a selection of opera favorites for a Musical Luncheon presented by the Women's Committee of the xxxx视频 on November 13.
The event will be held at the Beechmont Country Club (29600 Chagrin Road). Hospitality begins at 11:30 a.m. with program at noon, followed by lunch at 1:00 p.m.

Fasten your seat belts for this concert which begins with American composer John Adams' acclaimed fanfare Short Ride in a Fast Machine. Young talent will be on full display as violinist Kyung Ah Oh performs the virtuosic and dark Sibelius Violin Concerto. New Music Ensemble Celebrates Composer Joan Tower

November 9 Symposium
November 10, the New Music Ensemble, directed by Head of Composition , celebrates the 75th birthday of one of America's foremost and colorful composers,Reviewers say Tower is nearly impossible to pigeonhole stylistically, her numerous works for orchestra and chamber music ensembles are characterized by rhythmic vitality power and often raw emotion. She has been hailed as "one of the most successful woman composers of all time" by The New Yorker magazine.
She'll present a symposium on Saturday, November 9 at 1:30 p.m. in xxxx视频's Studio 113. The discussion of her work and process is followed by a recital the next day.
The recital, presented in celebration of Tower's 75th birthday, will feature six of her works in xxxx视频's Mixon Hall at 4:00 p.m. The xxxx视频 New Music Ensemble, led by Fitch, will be joined by the xxxx视频 Percussion Ensemble, led by . Faculty performers include cellist and the .
